Like others, I've used Growl for years and I've stood by it when it broke on each Apple update.
I appear to be one of the lucky ones in that at least Growl is running. That said, the preferences won't stick: I get a different type of alert to the one I've requested, and the alerts stay on screen despite requesting a roll-up after 8 secs — meaning I have to interrupt my work to close the alert. I don't have time to help sort out the bugs. Besides, I don't see that's my job with paid-for software. I've turned it off and will try again with an updated version in a few months.
