it's already there :) go to growl preferences -> applications, select the appropriate application, click configure under the notifications tab, for each notification you want a sound for,: select that notification and alter the 'play sound' option.
if you are already getting sounds, and that isn't set, then it is likely to be the application itself, and not growl, plain the sound. check that app's own preferences for changing/disabling there.
