Well, I don't know anything about programming, I just have ideas. I
would expect that there would be two notification types released for
this: one which displays the icon as normal and the pixelation effect
for use when say there is a notification option when something goes
wrong e.g. with "Stuffit Expander" there is an option to show a
notification when there is a "Failure".

I'd expect that pixelation of a programs icon would be useful in that
instance, or, if you just liked the effect of course. You might even
like to make it a general option, possibly hack into the Quartz
effects in OS X so that filters in general can be applied to the
icons, which would be the quick and safe way of doing it - if
possible.

What do you think?
