If it disconnects and then promptly reconnects, then instead of 2
notifications on screen you'll get one. HardwareGrowler 1.3 introduced
coalescing of some notifications, and I'm pretty sure that this was one of
those. Coalescing is where you'll see the contents of a notification get
replaced with something more up to date.

So I wonder if that's what you're seeing on one of the two items you talk
about here.
