So I have a workaround I'd like for you guys to try with the high CPU problem. This will reset some settings, but it's worth trying.
1) Stop Growl 2) Go to Library/Preferences/ 3) Find com.Growl.GrowlHelperApp.plist 4) Rename it. 5) Start Growl Hang onto the renamed plist though.
