I'm so angry!! I've spent a couple of hours going around in a circle trying to follow the advice here and on the website.
Like many many people here I had old Growl working fantastically. I installed the new one, having removed the old like I was instructed, for $1.99. Happy to pay, because I loved the product. Nothing has worked since. I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled several times. I've played the round-the-website report a bug, check faqs, discussions, report a bug merry-go-round. I have found MANY MANY DISCUSSIONS, with exactly the same problem. But I CAN'T FIND AN ANSWER. Sorry for shouting, but I've found this the most frustrating software experience I've had in a long time. If I read one more review saying 'it just works', I'll explode. Now to calm down, and give the information requested. Version number: Version 1.3.2 (1.3.2) Mac Version: 10.7.2 Safari Version (which I never use): Version 5.1.2 (7534.52.7) Example apps: Adium and Facebook Notifications Display style: Starwl - I have never seen a notification - I don't how if growl is running or not most of the time (it only shows up in the doc if I launch it from the launchpad, then change the 'show icon in the dock' to 'show icon in both' back to 'show icon in the dock' again. - I've never seen a roll-up - I seem to have lots of applications enabled in growl - I've used Adium as my test application, and have changed the display style for 'contact signs on', and 'contact signs off', and in neither situation has anything ever been generated.
