Hi! I bought Growl through the Mac App Store in early November of last year, and recently I've started get update notifications saying;
Update Available A newer version of Growl is available online. Click here to download it now. This notification seems to be sticky, and doesn't fade away after a while like other Growl-messages do. Clicking it takes me to http://growl.info/growlupdateavailable claiming the latest version is 1.3.2, which is the same version as I already have installed. There are no updates available for Growl through the Mac App Store either.
