After buying a MacBook pro with OS 10.7.2 I kept getting notifications to update Growl. So I did for 1.99$. Then I downloaded the uninstaller for the old Growl version 1.2. It uninstalled both!!! Not very user friendly. I bought Growl again for 1.99$ because Growl served me well for years on my old G4. I've tried most of the advice posted here and elsewhere, but I gave up. My advice: Don't buy untill Growl is foolproof.
