Here's what I had to do. 1. Download a style to the desktop. 2. Double-click to install from the file on the desktop 3. Navigate to the ~/Library/Application Support/Growl/Plugins directory 4. Force quit Growl from the Activity Monitor (otherwise I get an error that the file is already installed and prompted to overwrite, after which I am then notified there was an error installing.) 5. Double-click the file that was installed to the ~/Library/Application Support/Growl/Plugins directory I was then able to install without an error message, and the style now appears in my Growl displays panel.
Hope that helps and is not just some FM that doesn't mean anything/help anyone else.
