Hello, GrowlVersionDetective has certain protections we put in place so that we wouldn't be touching things we probably shouldn't be. Some of those conditions are when the app is owned by a different user (such as apps installed from the app store), or when it is signed. You should still be able to upgrade it, but it will have to be manually, and be sure to keep the old framework around, add .bak to the end of its name or something and leave it in place so you have it if things go wonky. You can get the new framework from inside GrowlVersionDetective's bundle.
