After upgrading my MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion (10.8.1), I replaced my reliable version of Growl (1.2.2) with the new version 1.4 from the App Store. Now none of the apps that formerly sent notifications through Growl (such as Transmit and Dropbox) is visible in the Applications tab of Growl preferences, and none of them is sending notifications via Growl (or any other way). I tried to download the Simplest Notifier Evar (as recommended by Growl), but it wouldn't download from its web site. I also tried updating all relevant frameworks (they updated to version 1.3). That didn't help. I would greatly appreciate your help!
