1) The GrowlRecDict thing is a problem that is very present in 1.2.2 and below.
We addressed that in 1.3. Unfortunately for you, that update is only available
on 10.7 and 10.8.

The one thing I can think of is if rapidweaver is using an old version of the
framework. Do me a favor, reply with one of the growlrecdicts attached and
let's just see if it says what is writing it. Bear in mind, this is a very old
problem for us, so I do not know what we're going to accomplish here, but I'm
happy to look.

2) Most likely cause of why Growl was installed is documented here:

http://growl.info/thirdpartyinstallations

Scroll down a little bit though. This page is designed to help get Growl off of
the system first. The problem is that some developers started installing Growl
without telling people. Which wasn't apparent until we released the next
version. Then all hell broke loose. The worst part is we think that one app
developer shipped a beta version, which checks for updates more frequently. Oh
say every 5 minutes. Which means we end up with very very angry people
contacting us. Most of the developers have since fixed the problem, and Growl
is in the app store partly to try to help with confirming that Growl is in fact
legitimate.

Anyhow, hope this helps.
