I am wondering if this is possible and how to go about setting this up. I have my home server which is running the latest OS it is able to, Snow Leopard, (10.6.8) and have installed Growl 1.2.2. I want it to publish Growl messages to my main laptop which is running Mountain Lion (10.8.3) and has installed Growl 2.0.1 from the app store.
>From what I can tell there is no longer a way from me to install Growl 1.3 onto my older computer - so does this configuration of 1.2.2 to 2.0.1 work? How do I set this up? On Snow Leopard (Growl 1.2.2) under Network I have checked "Forward notifications to other computers." On Mountain Lion (Growl 2.0.1) under Network I have checked "Listen for incoming notifications" and I have attempted to use the + button to add my server "172.16.1.100". I never see the server appear in the list on Growl 1.2.2 machine. On Growl 2.0.1 there is a little gear and if I mouse over it says: "There was an error subscribing to the remove machine. code: 0, description: null" I disabled the Firewall on both machines to ensure that was not the problem. Is this possible? Can anyone offer suggestions on how to make it work? Thanks, ..Jordan -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
