As you've probably learned by now, Growl is no longer a Pref Panel item. It is a full-blown application. I recommend having it display it's icon in the Menu Bar for fast access to its Preferences. ;-) As you noted, it is now in your Applications Folder. Double-clicking its icon should bring up its prefs window. All controls and options are in there.
