While you have the latest version of Growl (and OS X), it may be that "Plex Media" may have an older version of the code that is needed to work with Growl (http://growl.info/documentation/developer/implementing-growl.php). I believe that each app must also have some code if the developer wants it to be 'heard' by the Notification manager. Only thing I'd suggest is to contact the developer(s) of Plex Media. Hope they or some here can help.
