Definitely the beta. I went back to 10.10.1 and it's working OK. Actually, 
under 10.10.2, which forced me to restart a few times, sometimes, the icon 
and the switches would display fine, sometimes they wouldn't. The Desktop & 
Screen Saver were also having problems displaying images. Definitely some 
problems with 10.10.2.
