It is more convenient to pay than to perform the following tasks. - Download Xcode - Set up the build environment. - Install mercurial. - Clone the repository - Build Growl or any of our other applications.
However you can do that. The code is open source. We have documentation for building here: http://growl.info/documentation/developer/growl-source-install.php Source built versions of Growl are not supported. Paying for Growl is paying for support.
