"Growl new message notification. Required growlnotify extra has not been
found. Please install it." pops up endlessly on my Mac Thunderbird email
client. When I click "OK" the notification disappears and a new one with
the same message pops up. There is no end to this and I can't do much in
email sending and receiving on Thunderbird because of this. Growl is not in
my applications folder or systems preferences folder so I can't move it to
the trash and can't manually uninstall it either. The Growl paw is never on
my menu bar. Using the Growl Uninstaller results in a "Growl uninstall
successful!" message, but the same old popup message appears when I try to
use Thunderbird again. Any ideas on how to uninstall Growl? I have El
Capitan 10.11.3 on an early 2009 MacBook.
