I am trying to use Automator to ask for text and send it to another mac computer not the LAN using Shell.
I have installed the latest Growl and Growl Notify from here on my Macbook Pro and iMac on the same network. Both computers have listening checked in the preferences with a password set. I am hoping to send to the receiving computer using that computer's Mac Address, but I first am attempting on known IP address. My first action is *Ask for Text*, requiring an answer. My second action is *Run Shell Script* with pass input set to "as arguments". the script I am using is: growl notify -H 192.168.xxx.xxx -t "Instant Message" -m "$@" -P password The error I get is "-: growlnotify: command not found. I have tried reinstalling growlnotify 2.1 and restarting my computer, but the error persists. 1. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? 2. Do I need to change anything if I want to use the target computer's MAC address instead of IP? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
