Twitter finally killed off Twitter.app (for which the latest version never worked properly with Growl...I've been stuck on Twitter 4.2.4) -- it looks like server-side support was killed around midnight Eastern, about an hour ago.
They really want you to use a browser-based client. Is there any way to get Google Chrome or Firefox to use Growl for notifications, instead of using the Notification Center? (I like to get Tweets as popups, but Notification Center isn't great for things that come in at the rate 1 or 2 a second; simultaneous notifications don't stack like Growl, among other things). I see that Francois-Guillaume Ribreau tried this 7 years ago, but I assume it no longer works; haven't had a chance to play with it: https://github.com/FGRibreau/Growl-Chrome-Notification Any tips or advice? I suppose shoehorning this into a local build of Chrome is probably feasible, but sounds like a huge maintenance headache. Thanks.
