There was done some work mainly by Bjørn Forsman - but, AFAIK, it is probably 
unfinished, see e.g. here:

From my point of view, the main problem is how to adapt advanced 
properties/functions of XHCI controller to very specific GRUB USB interface 
subsystem, which was created long, long time ago and originally was related 
just to UHCI controller...
