I looked at it; it's simple enough, once you get past the fortran kookiness. One reason I never did a complex version was that I wanted to also have complex versions for the general polygamma functions (not just the first), and I was too tired to do all of that. But since there is some demand, I have now implemented psi(z) for complex z. It is checked into CVS, but it is not tested yet. The problem is that I cannot get test_sf.c to build; it fails to find some symbols from the library for complex math, declared in gsl/complex/gsl_complex_math.h.
