I talked about this with Zach. It is a bug in ASDF:
#+clisp ;XXX not exactly *verbose-out*, I know
(ext:run-shell-command command :output :terminal :wait t)

Try commenting out one of the read-line forms in defun gsl-config:

and see if that helps. If it does I'll put a conditional into the GSL
code. Otherwise I don't think there's an easy fix to GSLL.
