3D data format

Hello,

I am starting to use gstat for 3D indicator simulation of categorial soil
types as done by Mark Bierkens in his phd thesis. It is not clear from the
manual which format 3D data should have. I am currently using asriigrid
format for 2D simulations and I visualise them with Arcview. Is it possible
to extract 2D layers from 3D gstat output files and visualise them using the
arcview 3D analyst for example ?
