The two ways that I commonly for automated mapping management are: * gx-map which allows a user to add/remove arbitrary mappings to their account from the comand-line. This happens on some teragrid sites (at least SDSC) * VOMS which allows a single server to indicate that a large number of people belong to a particular VO and be mapped to a VO-specific user on a large number of grid resources. This is common is OSG (where for example, anyone who is listed in the OSGEDU VOMS server gets mapped to user 'osgedu' on many/most OSG sites) --
