HI Olivier,

You might be interested to look at the TIGRE project server and user client stacks. These are freely available and do not require you to join a certain grid project to use. You can run your own grid project out of them.

They are based on a subset of the VDT (Virtual Data Toolkit developed first by Grid3 and now used in full form by Open Science Grid and by LCG). The TIGRE project was specifically to build a small, lightweight, easy to use web-services-enabled grid stack out of minimal elements.

You can find a server stack installation 1-page tutorial along with download and setup instructions at

http://tigreportal.hipcat.net/gridsphere/gridsphere?cid=serverstack

The user client matching 1-page instructions and stack are available at

http://tigreportal.hipcat.net/gridsphere/gridsphere?cid=clientstack

(We are also investigating the use of GRMS separately as a project- wide scheduler and to use its simple pure-java user client for job submissions, as I told you off the list. In addition, we continue to look at Gridway.)

The project is open for all to use. You do not have to join TIGRE to download and use the project stack for your purposes. At least one other major regional grid has made a version of the TIGRE stack with our assistance for their purposes -- it's simple, and all you have to do is to prepare your small ascii pacman file with the components customized to meet your needs. Please feel free to communicate with us by e-mail or to open a consulting ticket on our ticketing system for more information.

To see the scale of resources we have deployed using this simple stack, see the URL

Best wishes,
Alan

It still seems to be difficult to find a user package small and efficient.
