Do you have a CA certificate installed on that machine?
Here is some documentation on setting up CA on a machine: http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/4.0/admin/docbook/quickstart.html#q-secur ity2. You will need the certificate of the CA who issued your user certificate.
