Hi did the user who tries to copy file got a certificate himself? because the line that says: globus_sysconfig: File does not exist: /tmp/x509up_u0 is not a valid file shows that u0 is not for an ordinary user i think you should got a certificate for the user then try that command you can follow instructions in http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/4.0/admin/docbook/quickstart.html for setup the whole globus and especially the security part for another user on the same machine http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/4.0/admin/docbook/quickstart.html#q-security i hope this be helpfull
