I've been trying to build a test grid for educational purposes.
I'm following the instructions in the 4.0.x quickstart
(http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/4.0/admin/docbook/quickstart.html#q-toolkit)
but when issuing commands to build the toolkit: ./configure
--prefix=/usr/local/globus-4.0.1/ \
--with-iodbc=/usr/lib
and
make | tee installer.log
When compiling I got an error that has related with a "-lodbc" flag.
The problem solves if I change the configure with "./configure
--prefix=/usr/local/globus-4.0.1/ --with-iodbc=/usr"
I tried this procedure on two different linux distributions (Fedora Core 6 and
Ubuntu 7.10).
I'm not sure if this is only in my installations or it is a general issue with
iodbc2 packages in the pre-requisites.
Could someone tell me if the solution I find is the correct one. And if it is,
Does the quickstart guide has to be changed to avoid other users to have the
same problem?
