Hello All:
Scenario:
Using Virtual Workspaces(VWS) TP1.3.2 in GT4.0.5 framework to deploy Xen
VMs to a remote cluster environment. Want to retrieve data from VMs.
As of yet VWS doesn't offer transfer of specific files or partitions and
the size of the disk images versus the amount of data makes the option
of transferring the entire image back quite unpleasant. I have
considered using scp but am concerned about private keys being available
in the remote cluster. I am considering the idea of using gridftp but I
am a little unclear of how this should be setup.
I would like to do as minimal an install of GT4.X on the VM as possible
to be able to get the functionality. I have read through much of the
GT4.0 docs but am not sure of a couple of things. Can I have gripftp
setup on the VM without the need to have any hostkey or userkey on the
VM? Will this still be a secure transfer? I have been looking at
myproxy-server as a possible solution but I don't think I have this right.
I have read through a lot of the documentation but have not been able to
get this to work. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Please let me know if further information is required.
Cheers,
David
