Thanks a lot Martin for your quick reply. I am using the classes provided by Globus, namely, org.globus.exec.client.GramJob and org.globus.exec.client.GramJobListener. The container hosting my grid service is the one with the problems. The other containers are fine. The heart of the problem is this: GramJobListener needs a light container to run on. So, it looks that this light container created to host GramJob notifications is conflicting with the container running the grid service, which uses the GramJobListener in a separate thread.
