I don't know, and it's funny that you ask because we've got another
thread running now with a Centos 5.2 user who is having a similar
problem with GRAM2 from the 4.2 release series. Check my reply under
"Defining GPT_TCP_PORT_RANGE for the client" from a few minutes ago
and see if that debugging turns up anything useful for you.
Substitute your client machine name for "grid1" and your gatekeeper's
machine name for "grid2".

Dear All,
with globus-4.2.0 installed on some CentOS-5 boxes, I am getting
above error if I run:
globusrun -o -r smeg '&(executable=/bin/hostname)(count=1)'
I have properly configured gatekeeper and its log says:

If I run globusrun-ws it works fine. I also tried to stop the
firewall (though I had already made some holes for required static
as well as ephimeral ports) but to no vain. Also checked that globus-
job-manager is world readable.
As I intend to use mpich-g2 hence I am testing the functionality of
gram2 but to no success yet. Could any one provide some pointers as
what could I do further?
thanks for your help
