You only need GridFTP if you want to
a) run jobs with file-staging, or
b) use globusrun-ws and want to stream the output from the service back to the
client (for more info about streaming and staging see the 4.2.1 user'guide
(http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/4.2/4.2.1/execution/gram4/user/#gram4User)
How did you install the toolkit? (I thought that in a default installation
gridftp is installed, but i'm not 100% sure right now.)
