A Certificate Authority is actually a service that you run, or that is run by another party or organization, to grant certificates that are used to identify persons and/or machines and services that are part of a grid. You can set up one of your own to use on an experimental basis using SimpleCA as shipped with the Globus Toolkit, or if you are associated with a project that runs a CA, or that has arrangements with a national, local or regional CA to issue credentials on its behalf, you can pursue the steps needed to get you the certificates that you need.

For more information on certificates, see the links below. Hope this helps.

We have installed Globus Toolkit and also applied for certificate of authority for using the toolkit. It has been a week and we have received no response from concerned authority. We would really be thankful if you can guide us on what step we should take next.
