We developed two implementations of the MPI standard for grids.
The first was MPICH-G2. It runs only with pre-WS GRAM found
in GT4 and earlier versions of Globus. MPICH-G2 has been
around for years and is very well-tested.
The second was MPIg. It runs with WS-GRAM (found only in GT4)
and also pre-WS GRAM. It has some performance enhancements
that help in certain situations.
If this is your first time using a grid MPI then I suggest
using MPICH-G2 to get started. Information can be found
