I suggest you to read
http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/latest-stable/admin/install/#gtadmin-install
that is the installation guide.
The source distribution should contains both the configure script
and the Makefile.

The "make" command is giving error to me -

/home/globus/globus_install is the directory which I have specified
for the installation.
/home/globus/gt4.2.0-all-source-installer is the installer directory
The globus_install directory is empty, as I have created it just
before the installation. And the gt4.2.0-all-source-installer does not
have any directory named source-trees-thr/core
