Hi everyone,

As you may know, The Globus Alliance has been selected as a Google Summer of Code 2009 mentoring organization. Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a program that offers students a $4,500 stipend to write code for various open source projects over the summer. Last year's program was a great success (see http://tinyurl.com/globus-gsoc08), and we look forward to working with students again this summer.

If you are a student interested in Globus technologies, GSoC is an excellent opportunity to learn about Globus hand-in-hand with an experienced Globus developer as your mentor, and get paid for it. We encourage you to take a look at the list of project ideas we've proposed for this summer:

For more details, including how to apply, take a look at the following announcement:

        http://www.globus.org/news.html#153

Please remember that the deadline for students to submit their applications to Google Summer of Code is April 3rd.

If you have any question about a specific project idea, please contact the mentor who proposed the idea (his/her e-mail will be listed in the project ideas page). If you have any general questions about participating in GSoC with Globus, contact the Globus GSoC administrators at [email protected].

Cheers!
