You have to run this command on the client-machine where you want to get a
short-lived myproxy certificate, e.g. for using command-line tools like
globus-url-client, globusrun-ws, etc.

Instead of copying the user credentials to all client machines, you can use 
myproxy:
use myproxy-init to create a myproxy cert and then, to create short-lived proxy
certificates on the client machines, use myproxy-logon.

You should probably run it on one of the supported OS that you are familiar
