Hi,
We're seeing the following error from gpt-build on MacOSX 10.6.0:
package.tar.gz could not be untarred:32512
Died at $GLOBUS_LOCATION/lib/perl/Grid/GPT/PkgMngmt/ExpandSource.pm
line 42.
The issue is that /usr/bin/tar on MacOSX 10.6 is BSD tar rather than GNU
tar (unlike MacOSX 10.5), and GPT requires GNU tar as documented at:
http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/latest-stable/admin/install/#gtadmin-prereq-required
A solution is to install GNU tar from <http://www.finkproject.org/> or
elsewhere, then (re-)install GPT.
I just want to pass this along in case other MacOSX 10.6 users see the
same error.
