This error is coming up when the globus openssl package tries to do a very
simple test compile against your openssl installation.

The program it is trying to compile is:

#include <openssl/ssl.h>
int
main ()
{
SSL_library_init();
  ;
  return 0;
}

Saving the above to "foo.c" and running "gcc -c foo.c" may tell you more
information about why the test compile is failing.
