Hello,
We are trying to do some performance testing with globus-url-copy. Our data set consists of a very large directory structure that our clients do not have the disk capacity to hold, so we are trying to run our tests using /dev/null as one of the transfer points. However I cannot construct a command using /dev/null that allows globus-url-copy to process, although I think I used to be able to do this in a previous release of 5.0 or 4.2: globus-url-copy -r file:///my/test/dir/ <file:///\\my\test\dir\> gsiftp://lonestar.isi.edu/dev/null error: Multiple source urls must be transferred to a directory destination url: gsiftp://lonestar.isi.edu globus-url-copy -r file:///my/test/dir <file:///\\my\test\dir> gsiftp://lonestar.isi.edu/dev/null error: globus_xio: System error in read: Is a directory globus_xio: A system call failed: Is a directory Is anyone aware of a way to still use /dev/null to test transfers of directories, or any workarounds involving create a character file similar to /dev/null that globus-url-copy would consider a valid directory?
