Ian, THanks much for the note. Just now UDT is so much faster than TCP that speeding it up more isn't as important as getting more people/science groups to try it.
If you could provide binaries for your usual linux platform(s) with UDT compiled in, that would make adopting it a bit easier. Among bio-scientists, a MacOSX binary also would be popular for the globus-url-copy client. I see there is a Java port of UDT; adding that to COG/JavaGlobus might be useful. However my brief test suggested Java UDT and C++ UDT may not yet be compatible. - Don Gilbert
