Hi,

Just a small check list:
/usr/local/globus4//etc/gpt/globus_core-src.tar.gz could not be untarred:512

1) Check the path exists and the file is there
2) Check you have tar and gzip in your path
3) Check you have the rights to untar it there (do it manually)

my 2c.

Hope it helps,
Estani

Yes Martin, due to some reasons I am using older version from GT 4 series. As you said, I tried it with 4.0.8 now the following error occurred after make command.

/usr/local/globus4//sbin/gpt-build -srcdir=source-trees-thr/gsi/openssl_gpt gcc32dbgpthr
sh: NOT: not found
/usr/local/globus4//etc/gpt/globus_core-src.tar.gz could not be untarred:512 Died at /usr/local/globus4//lib/perl/Grid/GPT/PkgMngmt/ExpandSource.pm line 42.
make: *** [globus_openssl-thr] Error 2

Kaasim Saeed.

Is there a particular reason why you use such an old version of
    the GT (4.0.1)?
If you have to use a version from the 4.0 series I'd rather try 4.0.8.
