MyProxy server generates a proxy certificate based on the storage directory
/var/myproxy. What do you have there in files dknight.*?

How did this happen that you use the host credential as a user credential?
How did you get/generate that credential?

In my /home/dknight/.globus/simpleCA/newcerts folder I have 4 files whose
subjects are as follows:
01.pem
Subject: O=Grid, OU=GlobusTest, OU=simpleCA-fool.man.machine,
CN=host/fool.man.machine
02.pem
Subject: O=Grid, OU=GlobusTest, OU=simpleCA-fool.man.machine, OU=man.machine,
CN=QuickStart User
03.pem
Subject: O=Grid, OU=GlobusTest, OU=simpleCA-fool.man.machine, OU=man.machine,
CN=try
04.pem
Subject: O=Grid, OU=GlobusTest, OU=simpleCA-fool.man.machine, OU=man.machine,
CN=Dark Knight
I intend to use the last one for transactions. I think for some reason it is
matching the first certificate.

$GLOBUS_LOCATION/var/myproxy has dknight.creds which has the certificate and the
private key and dknight.data has the following information:
OWNER=/O=Grid/OU=GlobusTest/OU=simpleCA-fool.man.machine/OU=man.machine/CN=Dark
Knight
LIFETIME=43200
USERNAME=dknight
END_OPTIONS
