Hi Ben,
I recommend installing Globus Connect 
(https://www.globusonline.org/globus_connect/) on your machine and use Globus 
Online (https://www.globusonline.org/) as a GridFTP client to move data between 
your machine and the GridFTP server. Globus Connect is simple one-click install 
available for Linux, Windows and Mac.
