I have run into this error a few times now: error: globus_ftp_client: the server responded with an error 500 500-Command failed. : globus_l_gfs_file_open failed. 500-globus_xio: Unable to open file /data/db/serialized_voc/trunk/20130705-0411/voc/zh_CN/websiteVerb_svn-ExistsMatchers.ser^M 500-globus_xio: System error in open: No such file or directory 500-globus_xio: A system call failed: No such file or directory 500 End.
Note the "^M" at the end of the file name. Only when I look at the filename on the source system I find no evidence of the ^M (octal 015): ls websiteVerb_svn-ExistsMatchers.ser | od -b 0000000 167 145 142 163 151 164 145 126 145 162 142 137 163 166 156 055 0000020 105 170 151 163 164 163 115 141 164 143 150 145 162 163 056 163 0000040 145 162 012 0000043 ls websiteVerb_svn-ExistsMatchers.ser | od -c 0000000 w e b s i t e V e r b _ s v n - 0000020 E x i s t s M a t c h e r s . s 0000040 e r \n 0000043 So I guess this explains why I'm getting the error, but where is the client coming up with this ^M in the first place?
