Position: Enterprise Portal Architect Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 6 Months Lead Architect/Consultant for a portal platform in support of re- architecture and new development of a next generation portal. Responsibilities include: · Strong knowledge of the current state of the art in portal technology and architecture. Ability to confidently define/make recommendations in support of building a forward looking next generation customer portal with sophisticated UI, analytics and social capabilities. · As lead/chief architect – perform oversight of application development, integration and maintenance, along with documentation of technical specs – being delivered by multiple teams/vendors. · Work closely and collaborate with business analysts and UX Team to clarify and implement against requirements and specifications; · Perform code analysis and work with UX Team, architects and other developers to come up with the best balance of functionality vs. code quality vs. performance vs. delivery timing vs. work effort; · Partner and work closely with the portal leads and to provide and implement best practices across projects; · Work with other team members and act as a mentor as needed for other developers, providing technical guidance and support to others wherever knowledge and experience permit. · Minimum 10 years of experience in software development and enterprise system integration; · At least 7 years of production experience in the design and development of information systems on portal-based projects using portal technology; with at least 3 years in a lead architect / consultant role. · Strong Web Services experience is required. · Strong JavaScript experience is required. Preference is given to those who show a mastery of JavaScript frameworks – YUI experience a strong plus. · Programming experience: Java/J2EE, JSR 168, Spring framework, AJAX/JavaScript (YUI), Application Architecture experience, SQL, XML); · Tools: Eclipse, profiling, code/platform optimization and fine tuning server side integration knowledge; RDBMS: Oracle DBMS; · Software analysis, design and development on enterprise level multi-tiered portal applications in a shared service engagement model; · Strong track record of translating technical specifications into quality design and code, with a balance between conceptual and technical architecture skills; · Excellent team work and must have high level of communication and articulation skills, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with other developers in a coaching or mentoring relationship; · Strong experience with RIA technologies for web applications (YUI knowledge a strong plus) · Experience developing applications for Financial Services is desirable; · A strong understanding of object oriented design, database design, UML, HTML is preferred; · Some background in implementing document and content management systems a big plus · Mobile development experience a plus; Please forward me your latest updated resume in word format and employer details.
