*Java BO SDK Developer* * * *INTERVIEW PROCESS: HIRE OVER THE PHONE* * * *LOCATION: Valley Forge, PA* * * *DURATION: 6+ months Will EXTEND!!* *Position Summary* Under general direction of the Manager, E-Commerce & Portals, this role provides development, support and maintenance services for the Customer Facing Reporting and other tools/applications within the Passport application suite with a focus on integration to the SAP BO layer utilizing the Java SDK. *Primary Duties and Responsibilities* * * 1. Responsible for the design, development [coding], unit testing, deployment and maintenance of the reporting area of the eCommerce applications – specifically the integration to the SAP BO/BI layer. 2. Acts with limited guidance to translate business and technical requirements into well-engineered, tested, and deployed solutions. 3. Provides technical expertise and demonstrates a broad understanding of Java-related BO SDK technologies (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-27465) including a keen sense for ensuring acceptable end-user response times [performance] with large data sets. 4. Applies disciplined software development processes and utilizes leading edge technologies to engineer and implement structured solutions to business problems. 5. Participates in monitoring and troubleshooting applications. 6. Provides new ways of delivering requested functionality. 7. Acts as liaison and provides expertise to architecture and infrastructure teams. 8. Researches and stays current with emerging technologies *Experience and Education Requirements* Requires a BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent; normally requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in Java (J2EE) web development. Requires education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent; normally requires four (4) years related and progressively responsible experience in applications development with experience in Information Technology application integration development and support. GWT, Mobile (HTML5, Objective-C, Android) experience a plus. *Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements* 1. Proven track record as a developer with experience doing development and automated deployments in a high volume web environment. 2. Experience implementing Java-based Web 2.0 Applications (J2EE/JEE [servlets, JSP, jdbc], Tomcat, AJAX, eclipse) and their architectures including integration to a SAP BO/BI layer utilizing SAP’s provided Java SDK[s] ((http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-27465). 3. Experience using source code version control systems (CVS/SVN/Git) and concepts such as branching and bug tracking systems (HPQC). 4. Experience with Web Services (both SOAP and RESTful) 5. Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply structured development methods to solve the problem. 6. Must be able to independently analyze existing systems to both provide support and deliver new functionality. 7. Willingness to learn new technologies and languages. 8. Good discovery and active listening skills. 9. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Experience working directly with end users for design and support of systems. 10. Good analytical and problem solving skills. 11. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail. 12. Depth in a number of critical technical skills like Java, Linux, Windows, integration, web systems development in a high volume transaction environment *Optional Requirements* 1. Agile Development methodologies – such as Scrum, Test Drive Development (TDD). 2. Knowledge of Java Web Frameworks (Spring, JSF, Wicket, etc.) 3. Proven experience using testing frameworks (JUnit, JSUnit, HTTPUnit) and producing high quality, scalable code and solutions. 4.
