Job Description:

The position is for a senior java developer working in the Software
Services area of GBM Americas.  This department supports many of the front,
middle and back office functions of the firm. The developer's primary role
will be the enhancement of trade message feeds to add compute and add
Volcker Spread P&L to the trades.

Role Summary:

The role is for a senior developer in the Software Services team within IT.
The position requires a self-starter, dedicated to a high level of customer
service, who can operate independently in a dynamic environment.  As a
senior developer, the applicant will engage in all aspects of the software
life-cycle and will interact with users in a fast-paced iterative
development cycle.

Responsibilities:

Engage in all aspects of the software life-cycle for Middle Office projects:

  : Collaborate to design and architect solutions with the team

  : Build solutions using best-practice development standards and tools

  : Collaborate to build and execute test plans



Essential Experience:

The following skills are essential to the role:

5 or more years of professional development experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

4 or more years of Java/J2EE experience

4 or more years in the financial services industry

3 or more years JDBC/SQL experience

Computer Science degree or equivalent

Experience building and supporting time-critical applications

Familiarity with UNIX development environment



Supplementary Experience:

The following skills are plusses:

Experience with Sybase

Experience with real-time trade reporting
