*Title : Release Engineer*** *Location : Los Angeles* *Duration : long term * * * *Job Description* The Release Engineer will be a vital part of ensuring that compilation, assembly, and delivery of our business critical applications is executed with precision. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong focus on designing scalable systems to build, package and deploy software supporting hundreds of applications built on .NETplatform. The candidate should possess deep knowledge of Windows Server technologies and associated configurations, and strive to maintain the highest levels of engineering best practices. *Responsibilities:* * * - Achieve and maintain strong expertise in source code repository administration (TFS, GIT), and extensive expertise in software build and configuration tools such as MSBuild and Chef. - Automate builds and deployments of multiple web and desktop applications on a Microsoft centric stack. - Document build, deployment, and continuous integration process. - Build and deploy code to web, desktop, and mobile platforms. - Design and manage IIS 6+ web servers on Windows. - Manage database deployments of MSSQL servers. - Coordinate and lead software code delivery activities from development to production. - Manage and maintain Team Foundation 2012 Build Server. *Required Skills:* * * - Superior grasp of the Windows Server technologies including PowerShell, batch scripting, configuration and troubleshooting. - Five or more years of experience creating software builds, installers and release related dashboards, targeted for the Windows platform and .NET framework. - Experience supporting software stacks built in .NET 4.0 and Visual Studio 2012. - Demonstrated experience and understanding of general source control concepts: branching, merging, tagging and labels. - Experience setting up continuous build and continuous deployment tools like Team Foundation Server, TeamCity or others on the Windows platform. - Previous software development and windows systems administration experience. - Bachelors in Computer Science or related field. *Preferred Skills:* - Experience with Chef or other software configuration management tools. - Experience with MSBuild MSDeploy, WebDeploy. - Experience with Nuget, NAnt, Cruise Control. - Working knowledge of ASP.NET MVC, WCF, and WinForms is a plus. - Experience integrating the build infrastructure with automated tools to enforce code quality as well as automated tests. - Experience with automated provisioning and DevOps concepts. - Experience working in an agile software development environment.
